IMPORTANT – Schedule Updates & A New Session

We hope everyone is getting excited for WordCamp tomorrow. We wanted to send a quick note that we have a couple of small schedule updates to announce.

  • Due to unforeseen circumstances Nicolas will not be able to attend WordCamp this weekend, so instead Ernest Barbaric has stepped up to the plate to present a fantastic talk called – Finding Your Voice – Learning From 6 Years of Failure.
  • Based on attendee feedback, we’ve made a small modification to the schedule and removed the extra half an hour for the Mentor Lunch. Because of this change all of the afternoon sessions now line-up and you won’t have to worry about leaving the middle of one session to catch the next.

Three Reasons To Pick-up A Ticket For WordCamp Today

Besides the obvious answers of great content, fantastic swag and amazing networking opportunities – here are three reasons why you should pick-up a ticket to WordCamp Calgary today.

  1. To make things easier for catering and badge printing the team will be forwarding on official numbers later today (Wednesday June 11th). By registering early it ensures we have your food order in and that you’re not one of those attendees with a hand written badge.
  2. Although we will take some registration at the door, we will still require you to purchase a ticket online [no cash tickets at the door]. So why not save yourself the headache by reserving a ticket before hand.
  3. Oh! And one last thing. There are also less than 25 tickets available WordCamp Calgary. So picking a ticket up before hand will guarantee a spot before we sell out.

The All Important WordCamp Calgary 2014 Schedule

You’ve picked-up your ticket (or at least will be picking up a ticket soon) and now you need to plan your day. Well, you’re in luck as last week we launched the WordCamp Calgary 2014 Schedule. So why not check out the official schedule below.

Please Note: The Afternoon sessions are all an hour long, not a half an hour long as it shows. (Except for Kurt Archer’s WordPress 3.9.1 session which is a half an hour long)

Meet Build Studio & Good Company

good-&-build---sponsor

As we mentioned before sponsorship is one of the key reasons that WordCamp Calgary is able to put on a full day of quality content for a minimal cost. Without the generous sponsorship of our national and local sponsors, WordCamp wouldn’t happen. It’s also why we are so excited to shine the spotlight on two of our local sponsors Build Studio and Good Company.

Both Build Studio and Good Company are fantastic champions of not only the WordPress community and WordCamp itself, but also great ambassadors of our fair city. Both companies provide top notch web design and branding services for their clients.

Build Studio’s resume includes great projects for espy, CalgaryIsAwesome.com and MidWest Surveys. While Good Company’s roster of works include TEDxYYC, Chris Turner’s Federal by-election campaign and Village Brewery. Both agencies are top notch members of the Calgary Community, so send them some love by visiting their web sites, sending them a note or connecting with them on Social Media.
