WordCamp Calgary 2014 is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress in the city of Calgary. This year’s edition is planned for June 14th at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
This year’s conference is not only dedicated to celebrating the growing WordPress Community in Calgary, but looking at how we can push WordPress to being more than just a “Blogging Tool”. Through a series of sessions, panels, hands on workshops and events we are aiming to help grow the WordPress Community in the city. This year’s one-day conference is jam packed with great content for a wide spectrum of WordPress users – from content editors all the way to hard core coders.

Mike Tighe
I am the founder of Solid, a Calgary digital agency. I have a strong background in front end development, design, and planning. Central to our work at Solid is making lasting and functional products, from being early adopters to responsive mobile design, through to ensuring what we build for our clients is easy to use & hard to break.
I enjoy presenting and have had the good fortune of doing so at Startup Calgary, DemoCamp Calgary, as well as many informal Lunch & Learn sessions at Critical Mass.

Doug McLean
Doug McLean is a programmer turned technical consultant. He moved to Calgary in 2008 to complete his Masters degree in applied mathematics. After 12 years of programming applications and configuring servers, Doug transitioned to planning and managing groups that work on these projects. Doug has spoken for the WordPress Meetup Group in Calgary on a variety of topics including custom post types, custom taxonomies and methods of extending wordpress’ mobile offerings. Doug now works with Siteline Solutions as a project manager and for JOI Media as their Technical Director.

Tony Grimes
Business owner, artist and technology therapist with 14 years experience in software development and online strategy. His company, Siteline Solutions, is a web and software developer specializing in web/software development and online marketing strategy.
In 2009 Tony founded Pixels and Pints, a monthly networking series for graphic designers and web developers. The group of almost 500 members meets every second Tuesday of the month in the Beltline area. The group expanded into barcamp and code sprint events in 2011

Connor Turner
As a UX Designer, front-end developer, WordPress guru, and social media expert; Connor has over ten years within the web design and start-up industry. He has worked with clients on a variety of projects in Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa,Toronto, Chicago, Washington D.C. and Austin, TX. He has also been featured as an online expert for Metro Calgary, Global Calgary, CBC Alberta and was a speaker at SXSW 2010. Connor is avid WordPress Designer and Developer through his company Armadillo Studios Inc.. Connor is also known as the founder of yycApps, the creator of The AlbertaTweets Project and the founder of the Calgary ProBono Lounge. He also still dislikes Helevetica, but is warming up to it a bit more.
